Kantipur Max, KMG’s digital platforms to broadcast all Premier League matches
Kantipur Max had previously broadcast the Indian Premier League and Wimbledon as well.
Post Report
Kantipur Media Group’s Kantipur Max TV channel, alongside the group’s other digital platforms, will broadcast all 380 matches of the 2025-26 English Premier League. KMG made the decision public at a function in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
KMG signed a sponsorship agreement with Unilever Nepal for the English Premier League, one of the most loved and viewed football tournaments in the globe, broadcast under the banner ‘Clear presents’.
KMG’s Chief Marketing Officer Sagar KC and Unilever Nepal’s CFO and IT Manager Ayush Sharma signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the sponsorship agreement.
“We are trying to realise one of our mottos: Watching Kantipur will suffice (Kantipur herey pugchha),” said Mahesh Swar, CEO of KMG. “Alongside prioritising broadcast of sports tournaments of Nepal, Kantipur is trying its best to make major international sporting events available to all Nepali households.”
Kantipur Max had previously broadcast the Indian Premier League and Wimbledon as well. The channel will also air the Top End T20 Series, a cricket tournament in Australia from August 14 to 24, which will see participation by Nepal men’s senior team.
According to KMG, PL matches will be available on Kantipur Max TV channel alongside mobile applications and websites of Kantipur and Kantipur TV. “We are launching the application of Kantipur Max for Android and iOS soon,” Swar informed.
As there are multiple PL matches at the same time, Swar informed that Nepali audiences can view the match of their choice on Kantipur Max’s application, while the one being broadcast on the TV will be available on Kantipur and Kantipur TV apps.
“We will try our best to provide all 380 matches of the season for the Nepali audience. We will also be providing match highlights,” Swar said. “We are yet to decide on whether to charge the viewers for multiple choices or not.”
It means that Nepalis no longer need to struggle on pirated sites for PL matches if they do not have a proper television connection at home.
Meanwhile, Unilever Nepal’s Managing Director Amlan Mukherjee expressed immense joy for partnering with KMG to bring one of the most loved and viewed football events in the most accessible way for the Nepali audience.
“Unilever’s personal care brands have been sponsoring sporting events globally, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup,” Mukherjee said. “PL on Kantipur will see Unilever’s Clear, shampoo for men, which currently has Cristiano Ronaldo as brand ambassador, as its main sponsor.”
Kantipur will also be bringing a pre-match talk show before the PL matches to provide analysis and information in the Nepali language, KMG informed.
The 2025-26 season of the English Premier League begins on Saturday with defending champion Liverpool facing Bournemouth.
