Former chairperson of Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality passes away
Gurung was elected as chairperson by the Nepali Congress in the 2017 local-level election.

Chhupi Maya Gurung, the former ward chairperson of Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality in Lamjung, passed away on Tuesday morning. She was 58.
According to Ramhari Neupane, a district member of the Nepali Congress, Gurung had been battling cervical cancer and died en route to Bharatpur Cancer Hospital in Chitwan for further treatment.
Gurung was elected as the ward chairperson by the Nepali Congress in the 2017 local-level elections. She was unmarried and lived with her brother, Jitram Gurung.
